Michelle took the stress out of career planning

Prior to Michelle, I had an outdated CV a poorly designed LinkedIn profile, no career plan, and this daunting feeling of not knowing where to start.

Michelle worked with me every step of the way to document my skills and achievements, update my CV and help structure my LinkedIn profile. She isn’t just a one-off service, Michelle teaches you how to continue to update your career documentation in an easy manner.

Michelle took the stress out of career planning and her leadership guidance has given me the confidence that I too can make a great leader.

What is Self Leadership?

Self leadership is the transformative journey of understanding and mastering yourself to become the best version of you.

It's about taking control of your life by recognising, understanding, owning, and changing your internal dialogue and behaviours. This process empowers you to consistently create healthy, productive outcomes in all areas of your life, from your career and business to your relationships and personal well-being.

Without self leadership, many of us find ourselves feeling burnt out, restless, disillusioned, or disengaged in our careers and lives. Life can be overwhelming and complex, leaving us feeling unfulfilled despite having followed all the "right" paths. Self leadership provides the tools to regain control, helping you understand your desires, beliefs, and actions to create a fulfilling life.
I’ve created two value-packed resources to help you understand self leadership and take steps towards mastery of yourself, leading to a healthier and more energised life.

Leadership and management for women

Self leadership for women is unique and nuanced, especially in the world of work that was designed for men and mostly run by men. Women are more likely to experience feelings of imposter syndrome, which is counter-intuitive to leading yourself. When you work with me, we'll cover the following key areas of leadership for women.

Leadership Values

Women have an opportunity to bring a balance of masculine and feminine values to leadership through mastering self leadership. Self leadership is grounded in self reflection, mindfulness, intentional decision making and self compassion.

Women in Leadership

The landscape in Australia falls short in terms of equality in the boardrooms. Women struggle with the 'broken ladder', the 'glass ceiling' and the 'glass cliff', to name a few of the challenges. Leadership often looks different for women, based on when and why they are promoted into leadership roles. They're often set up to fail. That's why leadership training is so beneficial.

Compassionate Leaders

The era we find ourselves in calls for compassionate leaders. It takes courage to lead with compassion and that's why self leadership is an essential skill. This is especially true for women in leadership who need to find twice the courage as men to do the same action. Why? Because when a woman shows confidence and compassion, she is perceived differently to a man. It's time to break down these biases for women to stop walking the tightrope of behaviours.

Leadership in Management

Management is about what needs to be done – planning, organising and resourcing a team appropriately. Leadership is about vision; strategising and inspiring people to do what needs to be done. Women can lead themselves to master these skills and be effective in their career and life.

First Time Leaders

Becoming a leader for the first time is challenging enough but when it comes to women, it's another level. First time women leaders often lack the sponsorship or mentorship that's required to kickstart their leadership career. When you're unlike the leader before you, it's common to be left to fend for yourself, while your male colleagues are shown the ropes, taken to the networking events and talked up by their leaders. Things are changing, but not fast enough. That's why working with a leadership mentor can give you a head start to build your confidence and leadership skills.

This is where I come in...

Imagine waking up every day with purpose, passion, and direction. Envision being in control of your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, consciously steering yourself towards your goals and desired experiences. Picture a life where you consistently make choices that lead to happiness, success, and personal growth.

This is the potential of self-leadership – a life where you are running the show, navigating through life's challenges with confidence and resilience.

Self leadership isn’t a journey that ends. Rather, it’s endless learning. I hope to help women gain a better understanding of self leadership, and how it can be used to create positive, lasting change in our lives.
